Great Organics !!

FOOD, the very substance that develops our bodies makes us grow and fuels our every day tasks. So why are so many people cutting corners with this product by consuming copious amounts of poor quality processed food containing very little if any nutrient value what so ever.

It seems that as a race we have lost our connection with real food, now labelled as Organic but in our grandparents day it was just food. Consuming Organic food does not have to be expensive, in fact growing our own is a great cheap way of becoming reconnected with the food we eat. Having now completed two of our four raised beds my wife and I are busy sowing seeds for the coming summer, but you don't need lots of room in your garden to do so. Lots of fruit and veg can easily be grown on a window sill, or indeed from a hanging basket.

The satisfaction of waking into your garden to collect your evening meal is a great feeling indeed, reconnecting you with how our food grows and where it comes from, and may i add it actually tastes like it should, not laced with chemicals to improve its shelf life.

So get your gardening gloves on and get growing your very own Organic veg for the summer, after all it is roughly 40 times better nutritionally loaded than processed foods.

You truly are what you eat !!

Functional Training

Hey Guys, hope your all well and staying healthy. I'm back after completing my first open race in 7 years, so that's the first goal of my season ticked, hope your all striving to and achieving your own goals.

So I guess you have heard the term "Functional Training" banded around alot but what does it actually mean. As Human beings we get all our movement via 7 movement patterns, theses are Bend, Push, Pull, Squat, Lunge, Twist and the Gait cycle. So a major part of my training for my clients is getting them to move in these ways, hence making their bodies stronger, pain free units.

If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got !! So if you workout on static machines in only 1 movement plain you will become a very static unit resulting ultimatetly in injury often finding itself a resting place in your back.

Next time you are in a Gym working out think about how our ancestors moved. They picked things up, they threw them around, they hunted their food on the move . Did they have back ache ?? I very much dought it.

So get your ipod on , stand up, start moving and feel the difference.
